By comparison, the edge detection from the human visual system - by a sequence of gross blurring of the incoming image by the eye lens, followed by sampling by a roughly hexagonal matrix of retinal receptors prior to a Laplacian-like local differencing, all as simulated by SHV - when viewed at X10, is as seen to the right. The edge location and orientation for each sensed location are shown as short bars. |
